Behind the Curtain

Name is Katie Bowman and I caught the burning bug back in 2018. I am self taught if that doesn't show. I am a curious person, who can get fixated on a topic. I like to try new things, although not a thrill seeker, but not afraid to fail at something new either. Follow on Instagram or better yet sign up for the newsletter to see my weird experiments. My ulitmate goal is to be that weird old lady in the woods that threatens to turn local hooligans into toads. I can't and won't, but they won't know that. 

I am not a full time artist. I work full time, volunteer as a board member for a nonprofit art group, and am a mom first and foremost. I would love nothing more than just to create, alas like the rest of you I have bills and necessities to pay. My belief is that art should be shared, cared about, and be attainable for all. So I will do my best to maintain timelines, and price.

I prefer to do realism landscapes, wildlife, trains, motorcyles, and trucks. Science and natural world inspired, mandalas are always fun, with a little steampunk and sci-fi thrown in. My favorite pieces, however, are the ones that tell a story, that came from a quote, or historically based, or something I had to do research on and intrepret it in my artful way.
